Arrival into South Africa
Daily Summary

Welcome to South Africa! On arrival, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your accommodation to check in.

Cape Town

Perched between the ocean and the mountain, with a national park as its heart, there is nowhere like Cape Town. Cape Town, the “Mother City”, is the oldest city in South Africa. With its majestic Table Mountain backdrop, Cape Town is one of the most beautiful cities in the world and popular for its beautiful beaches, Mediterranean vibe, amazing culinary scene, beautiful Cape Dutch architecture and thriving art community. A melting pot of cultures, rich historical and cultural heritage and the pristine white beaches that sweep along its coastline, the Western Cape has much to offer anyone visiting the city.

Local attractions include Table Mountain, the historic Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for many years, the V&A Waterfront, Bo-Kaap, boutique shops, numerous museums, wineries, and world famous restaurants. For those venturing beyond the city, the Cape Winelands and Cape Peninsula are a day trip away.

Daily Summary

Cape Town and Table Mountain

After breakfast this morning, meet your guide as you embark on a captivating Cape Town morning, where adventure and beauty intertwine seamlessly. Begin your day with an inviting exploration of the vibrant V&A Waterfront, where a blend of history, shopping, and dining converge against a picturesque harbor backdrop. Lay eyes on the historic Robben Island, a poignant symbol of resilience, and the culturally rich Bo-Kaap neighborhood with its colorful houses, collectively weave a tapestry of experiences that make Cape Town an unforgettable destination. Next, journey on an ascent up Table Mountain, where panoramic vistas paint the city and ocean in breathtaking hues. Table Mountain stands as an iconic sentinel over Cape Town, its flat-topped summit and rugged cliffs both a natural wonder and a mesmerizing backdrop, offering unparalleled panoramic views of the city and the shimmering ocean beyond.

Enjoy lunch at one of our favorite restaurants in town today (to be paid directly), possibly along the lively Kloof Street in the center of town.

This afternoon, we'll venture to explore some of the other historically important aspects of the city's rich past - with options to visit the District Six Museum, a look into the neighborhood of Cape Town's city center cleared to make way for white South Africans during Apartheid in the 1960s. Perhaps we'll also make a visit to the Desmond and Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation located in the Old Granary for a very informative visit and reminder of Desmond Tutu's important role in fostering anti-apartheid sentiment in the church and eventually leading to changing the course of South Africa's future.

At the conclusion of this fascinating day, you'll be returned to your hotel for an evening at leisure.

Day 3: A Day Out to the Cape Peninsula

Daily Summary

A Day Out to the Cape Peninsula

Meet your private guide at your accommodation this morning and set out for a day on the Cape Peninsula. Your stops include a visit to the Kalk Bay Harbour with its resident Cape fur seals, and time at the penguin colony at Boulders Beach where you come close to Africa's only penguin.

Enjoy some of the best views in Cape Town as you continue around the coast and back to the city.

Cape Town's Wines of Constantia

Nestled at the foot of the breathtaking Table Mountain, Cape Town's Constantia Wine Region offers a tantalizing journey through lush vineyards, historic estates, and world-class wines. A day of exploration here is a sensory feast, where the rich tapestry of flavors, scents, and landscapes unfolds with every sip and step.

We'll begin our adventure today at the illustrious Groot Constantia, South Africa's oldest wine estate, dating back to 1685. Steeped in history, Groot Constantia boasts Cape Dutch architecture, sprawling lawns, and panoramic views of the verdant valley. Here, indulge in their award-winning Bordeaux-style blends, particularly the Grand Constance, a legendary sweet wine favored by emperors and poets throughout history.

Alternatively, venture to Klein Constantia, renowned for its iconic Vin de Constance. This historic estate, founded in 1689, embraces a modern approach to winemaking while honoring its illustrious past. Savor the nectar-like sweetness of Vin de Constance, a revival of the legendary 18th-century wine celebrated by European royalty. Take a leisurely stroll through the estate's vineyards, soaking in the serene beauty of the Constantia Valley.

For a taste of innovation, we may visit Constantia Glen, a boutique winery perched on the slopes of Constantiaberg. Here, the cool maritime climate and ancient soils produce elegant, expressive wines. Sample their flagship Constantia Glen Five, a Bordeaux-style blend that captures the essence of the terroir with its complexity and finesse. Relax on the sun-drenched terrace, overlooking the picturesque vineyards, while enjoying a gourmet platter of local cheeses and charcuterie.

FInally, we'll round off the day at a winery such as Steenberg Vineyards, where centuries of winemaking tradition meet contemporary flair. Founded in 1682, Steenberg is not only one of South Africa's oldest wine farms but also a premier destination for food and wine enthusiasts. Treat your palate to their acclaimed Sauvignon Blanc, known for its vibrant acidity and tropical fruit aromas. Indulge in a culinary adventure at Bistro Sixteen82, where Chef Kerry Kilpin showcases the finest seasonal ingredients paired with Steenberg's exceptional wines.
